Our Local Immigration Partnership
When moving to a new location, it can be very overwhelming. To make the transition smoother and more enjoyable, different service agencies, municipalities, educational and health institutions and the business community collaborate to facilitate and implement solutions to help newcomers integrate in the community. These are called Local Immigration Partnerships (LIPs) and the Southwest Saskatchewan Immigration Partnership (SSIP) is our region’s LIP.
SSIP promotes community-based partnerships that help systematize local engagement of service provides and other institutions relevant to the newcomer’s integration process, support community-level research and strategic planning, and improve coordination of effective services aimed at facilitating settlement and integration.
The presence of this partnership allows us to create a better immigration experience for all of the newcomers to Southwest Saskatchewan.
